yikes..my birthday month has arrived. 71 years of old on the 19th. Creepy. I no longer feel encouraged when I read the obits so gonna stop!! lol.
It's been a good year in most respects. A family issue has put its ugly blotch on all the special events. Why do people hold grudges and are so unforgiving. I can't stand it, but unfortunately, it's not MY issue so I have to back off.
New granddaughter on the way. Baby shower last night was really fun. Yes, there was that blotch, but so many people I managed to focus on the joy, the food, the presents and creative games..did I mention the food? Oh, ok.
Hope you all have a glorious week!!

delay in blogging
Hello. Sorry for the delay in blogging. lazy I guess..or just too busy with social interaction on Twitter and Facebook. I'm going to start a new format of blogging BRIEF stuff then maybe it won't feel so daunting and overwhelming, right?
Just read in the newspaper that Hollywood is planning to make MORE raunchy movies.
It's Thursday and I'm looking forward to a weekend of entertainment. Friday night a pumpkin carving party and Saturday night hosting our "dinner for 8" group. Cartwheel.
See you later!! Flo

thurs june 13, 2013
Rained out. We drive to the stadium, stand in line for 45 min to get a lousy hot dog, return to our seats...rained out. The sun was shining, not raining, but earlier it had a gullywasher and the field was mush. I guess it's more important the boys play safe than sorry. It was the first 'practice' game for the Giants farm team short A. The 'real' game starts tomorrow.
Uneventful day, some productive some lazin around kind of day. It's alright, God is still on the throne!!

Run Without Fear
My granddaughter joined a group of about sixty runners in Water Front Park in our city in behalf of Boston. Candice ran with my two great grandkids. I'm so proud of her. In the article if you go to the website I post, she wrote a comment which I thought very wise and I'm so proud of her. Here's the site, followed by some pictures I've posted from that day. Thanks for reading my blog. In the group picture, Candice and the kids are front row on right (kids are wearing U of O sweatshirts). You may have to copy and paste the link below...her comment is in the text down a ways that begins with her name, Candice Davison....

Retirement
I went to the prison where he worked and met everyone and shared in their celebration. He was loved by the inmates and staff alike. He always showed God's love to them and was an example of a godly man with good work ethics.
I was able to pull off a nice retirement party that night at his daughter's so I'd say he's gone out with a bang!! Sure there's adjustments, mostly for him as he's worked so many years and I've been a homemake then retired so easier. Congratulations Bob!!!!

starstruck
Ok..now what is up with that? I tweet something to a celebrity, and got an answer without asking for one. A surprise. I got so excited I almost helped the dog chase his tail. Am I that desperate for recognition? YES! Validation that I'm worth talking to by someone who has access to thousands to talk to. It's kind of pathetic really. The only validation I need is from my Heavenly Father. He holds my future in His hand.

I just realized I miss skiing. Was I good at it? No. Snow Plow Queen. But, it, as in cartwheels, was something I enjoyed. The brisk cold air, puffy outfit and perky stocking cap. Clunking around in ski boots that hurt my feet, but that feeling of being in the loop. Being part of the "in" crowd. They didn't know I wasn't good at skiing. Drinking hot cocoa in the lodge. Fun times. The reality once I 'hit the slopes' was terror, people wooshing by me as I snow plowed my way down the baby hill. I did get pretty fast actually skiing on one of the beginner hills, however and it was wonderful. I stretched myself by taking on the more difficult runs, but it wasn't fun and I discovered my great capacity to whine...which led to wine..which led to "who cares" haha. I haven't tried to ski since becoming 70..or even in my sixties..actually my last time was in my late 40s. Divorce sometimes changes your sport choice. I remarried and my husband's thing is baseball. Now, I go to ball games all summer and dream about the skiing days in winter.
